Mission & Vision

Note from the CEO

In today's national backdrop, the work that Hack and our partners are doing to transform the economy is like climbing a steep hike. Although it has its challenges, it also has incredible views — like the faces of our Fellows when they connect with Host Companies at Pitch Day. Or, the conversations with Host Companies that led to co-designing more impactful initiatives to hire, retain, and elevate all talent profiles.

Note from the CEO

Dear Friends,

It seems like yesterday I accepted my job offer from Hack.Diversity.

As I reflect on my time at Hack so far, I think back to when I hiked my first 4000-footer at Mount Jackson. The journey up and down the mountain was hard — right as my friends and I were about to summit, rain began to pour, lightning struck, and we rushed down at a fast pace as new water repositories started to form — but I was so happy I challenged myself and unlocked a new goal.

You might ask: why am I so passionate about Hack? Well, I was one of our Fellows. There was no Hack.Diversity when I was growing up; yet, the elements of people who cared enough to open doors, break down barriers, and guide me into becoming the professional I am today were there. And that is what Hack is all about.

As we jointly make the climb to the summit of equity and representation in the tech sector, I want to encourage you. You are not alone – we are all climbing together, carrying each other as needed, and there along for the journey. As a member of the Hack.Community, you have the power to help us redefine competency and capability; and I encourage you to remain steadfast in your commitment to creating a more inclusive workforce.

Together, we will transform the economy and break down barriers. Your effort will not go to waste in the coming year. Cheers to new heights!
