ROBERT VANCE (he/him)
Robert is the Associate Director of Hack.Diversity’s New York City site, stewarding the launch of Hack’s first program outside of Boston. With a background in international education and access programming, he applies his knack for program lifecycle management and passion for diversity and equity in technology to cultivate a pipeline of access and opportunity for New York City residents.
Robert’s mission-driven spirit began in his home town of Johnson City, Tennessee; where in high school, he began volunteering in community programming with Spanish-speaking populations. He received a dual degree in International Affairs and Spanish from East Tennessee State University, and has been developing community engagement and programming both locally and abroad. His most recent work centers around diversity initiatives in Study Abroad, and has kept him eager to expand access and inclusion for equity in the workforce.
Outside of work, Robert can be found with a chai latte exploring your local record store, searching for the perfect bossanova record or exploring the city’s parks with friends. He’s your go-to guy for any discussion involving travel, reality tv, and citi bike routes, and is a firm believer in coffee after dinner.
