Elijah Teixeira (he/him)
Elijah Teixeira is excited to join the Hack.Diversity Team as a Program Manager for the New York City site! Working directly with the Associate Director of New York City, Elijah will manage the program experience for NYC Fellows. He’s also eager to bring a holistic approach to support the continued development and evaluation of the NYC site!
As the child of Cape Verdean immigrants who preached the importance of education and learning, Elijah has an extensive background working within the education non-profit space. From camp counseling, college advising, and program management, where he witnessed the disparities in access for underrepresented communities, he strives to work with a focus on equity and support learners to achieve success. With a B.A. in Communication from Boston College and an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from Boston University, his education and experience continue to move him forward and work toward greater change.
Since moving away from Massachusetts three years ago, Elijah has found his second home in Brooklyn, NY (Bed-Stuy to be specific). Outside of work, you can find Elijah chatting with his neighbors, playing with either his cat or his dog (both 3 years old and full of energy), or watching YouTube videos from some of his favorite creators. Lately, he’s been indulging in some of the local cuisine, looking up plans for future travel, and trying his hardest not to expand his growing sneaker collection.
