What sparked your interest in your major?
I have always had a diverse cluster of intellectual interests. I chose to major in IT upon my arrival at UMass because I enjoy learning facts about new technologies and different tools that help shape the business world. I also wanted a rigorous major that would hone my analytical skills for whatever career I may choose in the future.
Why is diversity important to you?
To me personally, diversity is important because it allows me to adapt myself. It helps me overcome cultural and language barriers. It allows me to develop my skills by learning from others and makes me a more well-rounded individual. Ultimately, I want to be a data scientist who can represent and understand all people, from all walks of life, and to incorporate technology to the analytics of understanding it all.
How do you want to change the world? How do you want to change the tech scene?
Having worked for an airline company, I’ve seen many changes that technology has brought into the industry. My goal of changing the world with technology is to advance innovation in the airline business even further.
